Worldcoin is an innovative digital identity project designed to establish an inclusive global identity and financial network. It was launched in October 2021 by Alex Blania, Max Novendstern, and OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman. This initiative aims to be accessible to everyone, regardless of their country, background, or economic status. Tools for Humanity (TFH), established by the co-founders in 2019, spearheaded the initial research and development of Worldcoin. The project’s ambitious goal is to create a universal currency, which was initially intended to be distributed to one billion people via AirDrop, potentially functioning as Universal Basic Income (UBI). However, the challenge of distinguishing humans from online bots made the AirDrop process problematic. Access NEWSLINKER to get the latest technology news.
