The Ethereum
$2,482 Foundation (EF), a non-profit organization steering the development of the world’s second-largest blockchain network, has announced the appointment of two new co-directors. Hsaio-Wei Wang, who has long served as a researcher within the foundation, and Tomasz Stanczak, founder of Nethermind, will take on these significant roles. Additionally, prominent figure Danny Ryan from the Ethereum ecosystem is returning as a co-founder of a new marketing and product branch called Etherealize.
New Leaders of the Ethereum Foundation
The Ethereum Foundation stated that the appointments of Wang and Stanczak will ensure the organization’s adherence to Ethereum’s core values as it grows. Wang has extensive experience as a community organizer and researcher in the Ethereum ecosystem. In a statement about his new role, he noted, “As Ethereum continues to develop, the Ethereum Foundation is evolving too. However, the core values we have advocated for years remain unchanged.”

Stanczak announced that he will officially begin his new role on March 17. He indicated that he would step back from some formal duties at Nethermind and responded to criticisms regarding the co-leadership model. In a post on his X account, he stated, “You can choose any co-director you want to communicate with. Each of us has the authority to make high-level decisions.”
This transition coincides with Aya Miyaguchi’s elevation to the presidency after seven years of serving as executive director of the Ethereum Foundation.
Danny Ryan Returns to Ethereum with Etherealize
Danny Ryan, one of Ethereum’s key developers, is returning to the ecosystem with a new role following his long tenure at the Ethereum Foundation. He will be a co-founder of Etherealize, which is being positioned as Ethereum’s corporate marketing and product development arm.
Ryan was one of the figures leading the transition to Ethereum’s proof-of-stake system. Although he left the ecosystem in September 2024, he still enjoys significant support within the Ethereum community. In fact, an informal vote among Ethereum holders suggested that Ryan should be the sole director of the Ethereum Foundation.
With his new venture Etherealize, Ryan aims to reach a broader audience for the Ethereum ecosystem. He will be joined by Vivek Raman in this endeavor. In his statement about his new role, Ryan expressed, “Etherealize is positioned at the intersection of real-world adoption, regulatory processes, ecosystem development, and critical R&D efforts in L1, L2, and application layers.”
Ethereum’s founder, Vitalik Buterin, congratulated the new appointments and the Etherealize initiative via X.
