The SEC surprised everyone by sending back the S-1 forms to spot Ethereum ETF issuers, causing a delay in the approval process. A source from one of the issuers revealed to The Block that the forms were returned with a request for minor adjustments. Issuers have been instructed to address the identified issues and resubmit the updated forms. This development indicates that there could be setbacks in the final approval of spot Ethereum ETFs and that another round of filings will be necessary before the ETFs can be traded.
